GNResearch presents a detailed description of the “EATING-OUT” HABITS of the Italian consumers throughout the day:
from breakfast until after dinner. The main results regarding DINNER are described below.
During the last 3 months, the percentage of meals out around dinnertime has increased significantly. The most popular places reflect the tradition of what the Italian food service offers, with a wide range of Pizza places and Restaurants. On the other hand, the number of Italians who choose Ethnic, Vegan or Biological food has progressively increased. The trend of these types of places is related to the increasing interest in this kind of offer, especially within the main metropolitan areas.
In a context focused on the digital environment, where even the food service has developed many solutions and applications, dinner is identified as “THE” perfect time to rekindle “real” relationships, and many Italian people take advantage of the dinner out to spend some pleasant time with friends. The experience sought-after during dinner is, for every target, an attention to the “value for money” offered. Furthermore, the choice is also based on clear-cut socio-behavioral profiles: trendy places, kid-friendly places, fancy places.
